The definition of curiosity is the desire to know or learn something. Everyone experiences curiosity throughout their life, sometimes you don't even know that it's there. Curiosity comes in many shapes and forms; from the infinite possibilities of what ifs, to everyone's ever changing perspective of the world, to the weird and obscure things in life that make us want to learn more. Art is such an amazing concept, because it is an outlet for all of those possibilities to be exploited and pondered upon. Throughout my life and my desire to learn or explore new things, art and my curiosity have opened doors for me. I have joined the Creative Arts Academy, painted murals around my community through Quad City Arts and have grown as an artist from my influential art teachers, family and friends. Curiosity and art go hand in hand in my life, which is the overall theme of my art portfolio. Each of my pieces represent the influences in my life that bring out the curious side of myself. My art highlights my viewpoint of the world. Often times I seek answers in my art, which is generally influenced by everyday life lessons and memorable moments. Everything that happens in life is the product of curiosity. Without it, we wouldn't have the ambition to try new things. Art was brought into my life by curiosity and has led to so many impactful moments and experiences. All of my artwork portrays meaningful moments or symbolic items that impacted my life by opening my eyes to the importance of recognizing the small things in life that have defined myself as a person. Having fun in life, and staying curious, is what makes life unpredictable and worth exploring.
